The midfielder's been linked with a summer switch to the English side

Real Madrid and Spain midfielder Marco Asensio didn't deny that he could move to Liverpool in a 180 million euro deal this summer, saying he's currently "focused on the World Cup."

After helping Spain reach the last 16, coming on in the second half of Monday's 2-2 draw with Morocco, he was asked directly if he had anything to say about Liverpool's interest.

"It's something that has come out but the truth is that I am focused on the World Cup and when it finishes you can talk about these things," he said.

"Right now, the only thing in my head is being in Russia, playing for the national team and having a good tournament."

Asensio also didn't respond to questions about Julen Lopetegui taking over as the new Madrid coach: "I am happy for Julen that he's been appointed by Madrid, after the World Cup I will speak with him."
