Real Madrid's new coach posted a special message to his players involved in the World Cup final

Real Madrid's new coach Julen Lopetegui congratulated Raphael Varane after he won the World Cup with France on Sunday. However the former Spain coach didn't forget about Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic who ended up as runners up with Croatia.

"Congratulations to Raphael Varane, a brilliant world champion. A source of pride for France and for Real Madrid", is what wrote Lopetegui on Twitter. And afterwards he posted another message: "Great work Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic. World Cup runners-up and admired by all of football. Croatia and Real Madrid are proud."

Lopetegui was Spain's coach until two days before the tournament started when he was sacked by the head of the Spanish FA, Luis Rubiales. This was because his agreement to take over at Real Madrid was made public by the club.
