The Germany coach was hugely disappointed to see his side crash out of the World Cup

Joachim Löw was left in a state of shock after Germany were knocked out of the World Cup on Wednesday.

Reigning world champions Germany were beaten 2-0 by South Korea as Mexico and Sweden made it out of the group.

Löw offered up no excuses and wouldn't comment on what the future will hold for him personally after this catastrophe.

"I am in shock," he said after the game. "It's a huge disappointment. I thought we prepared well for the World Cup and we came with the intention of defending our title and breaking that champion's curse.

"However, we've not been able to play our football. Why? I don't know. We will have to analyse it. We've been performing well since 2006, but this time we weren't capable of that and we have to accept it."

On whether he will remain in charge of Germany, Löw wasn't willing to offer any guarantees at this stage.

He added: "I can't say anything about my future. I need a couple of hours at least. We will have to speak about it calmly, but anything I say now is premature. I can only say that I am disappointed."
