Javier Mascherano explains how Messi is feeling at the moment and the frustrations the team has on a whole

The Argentina midfielder, Javier Mascherano, has assured everyone that his country's captain and star, Lionel Messi, is doing just fine. Although he did admit that things aren't quite going to plan for the team so far in Russia and the Barcelona man is a little frustrated.

"Leo is fine," is what Mascherano told the media at a press conference following the day's training session. "But as a collective, where things don't go as we'd like, we all have our own frustrations."

"He's human and he has his own frustrations but he's desperate to turn the situation around. He wants to show the the world a different image to the one we've shown in the first two games," added Mascherano.

Argentina drew 1-1 in their World Cup debut against Iceland and lost 3-0 to Croatia in the second match. This means they're currently bottom of Group D ahead of the last match against Nigeria on Tuesday.

To qualify for the next round, Argentina need to win and hope the result between Iceland and Croatia falls in their favour too. The ideal scenario for Messi and company is that Croatia beat Iceland.
