Jorge Vilda’s Spain women’s squad list for World Cup

Spain women's coach Jorge Vilda has announced this afternoon the call-up list of 30 players to begin preparations for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, which kicks off on July 20. The list includes some of 'Las 15' who will once again wear the Spain shirt after renouncing their availability to play, a few months ago.

Aitana Bonmati, Mariona Caldentey and Ona Batlle return after protesting while big names like Mapi Leon and Patri Guijarro miss out.

Alexia Putellas, who had not taken part in the 'The 15' controversy due to her knee injury, also stands out as she returns. The FC Barcelona captain had already had minutes in the final stretch of the season and her presence in this pre-list means that the sensations with her injury are getting better and better.

Of the 30 players called up by Jorge Vilda, the Spanish coach will have to reduce the squad to just 23, who will make up the definitive list for the World Cup. Their names will be announced on June 30.
