The English side got their hands on the Club World Cup for the first time ever
A Roberto Firmino goal in extra time helped Liverpool beat Flamengo 1-0 in the Club World Cup final on Saturday as the Reds got their hands on the trophy for the first time.

The English side came up short in 1981, 1984 and 2005 but Jurgen Klopp's side were too strong for their Brazilian opposition in the end in Qatar.
Liverpool started strongly but Firmino and Keita both missed chances before Flamengo, coached by Jorge Jesus, came into the game. By the break, in fact, it was the Brazilians who had been the better side.
Firmino came close again in the second half and Sala had a decent chance, while Gabigol forced a save from Alisson at the other end. Diego Alves then denied Henderson in the 86th minute as the game drifted towards extra time.
In the additional 30 minutes, Liverpool finally began to look like the better side. Henderson and Mane combined to set up Brazil international Firmino to score the winning goal.
Liverpool, then, added the Club World Cup to their European Super Cup and Champions League titles. They hope 2020 will bring their first Premier League trophy in 30 years.
