Sevilla move for Girona's Portu after Madrid strike for Mariano
The Andalusians will tie up his signing for around 17 million euros
After Real Madrid slipped in to sign Mariano Diaz back, Sevilla have instead moved for Girona forward Portu.
Joaquin Caparros, Sevilla' sporting director, wants an attacker to play with Andre Silva in Pablo Machin's side. Portu is not a pure striker, often operating out wide, so the 26-year-old may join along with another striker.
The deal will be around 17 million euros, with the Murcian winger having a 20m euro release clause. The transfer is now verbally agreed between the clubs, say Estadio Deportivo.
Girona have signed Seydou Doumbia, who will replace Portu in the side.
