The former Arsenal and Barcelona striker has left his job as Belgium's No 2

Ligue 1 will have Patrick Vieira and now Thierry Henry as coaches. After Patrick arrived at Nice, Thierry has said yes to taking over at Bordeaux after Gustavo Poyet was sacked. He is leaving his job as Roberto Martinez's No 2 with Belgium.

BFM Sport in France say the former 1998 world champion has already told Bordeaux he will take over. It is now just up to the ariva of the new owners, firm GACP, who have been in charge of bringing Henry to the club. They arrive in September and everything should be settled then.

It will be Henry's first job as a coach by himself, after assisting Martinez at the World Cup in which Belgium reached the semi-finals. In 2015 he was coach of an Arsenal youth team.

Per RMC Sport, Gilles Grimandi currently a scout at Arsenal, will be his assistant.
