The Mexican leaves with seven wins, 10 draws and nine defeats

Leganes made official Javier Aguirre's departure after the team were relegated on Sunday. The Mexican coach nearly kept the Cucumbers up but a 2-2 draw with champions Real Madrid was not enough.

Aguirre took over in November and had seven wins, 10 draws and nine defeats.

"The club thanks Javier Aguirre and his technical team for his professionalism and job during these months he was in charge, during a complicated situation, keeping the team alive until the last game of the season, a goal away from staying in the top flight. At the same time we wish him the best on a personal and professional level in his next steps."
