The La Liga president spoke about the jeering of Spain's national anthem

La Liga president Javier Tebas says Article 155 should be applied in the Copa del Rey final if the Spanish national anthem is jeered by supporters.

Barça fans have whistled the anthem in recent finals and could choose to do the same when their team take on Sevilla at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano on April 21.

Asked about if there should be a punishment if that does happen, Tebas suggested the game should be called off, referring to Article 155, which Spain's central government used in October to impose direct rule over Catalonia as the region pushed for a referendum on independence.

"I have always said there should be punishments, including stopping the game," Tebas said.

"I am not saying it is foreseen that [the anthem] will be whistled. But if nothing much changes, then Article 155 should be enforced at the Wanda Metropolitano. This would show that during these times, we are respecting the symbols of the nation."
