An entertaining game ended all square at Anoeta on Saturday

Umar Sadiq cancelled out Alvaro Morata's opener as Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Anoeta on Saturday.

Morata fired Atletico into an early lead but Sadiq, on his debut following a €20 million move from Almeria, levelled in the second half.

Both teams now have seven points from their first four LaLiga games of the season.

Atletico started well in San Sebastian and were ahead after five minutes when Morata turned home his third goal of the season after a corner had hit the post directly.

Morata thought he had doubled Atletico's lead before the break but a handball against Joao Felix in the build-up saw the goal overruled by VAR.

New signing Sadiq was introduced for his debut at the break and quickly made an impact, causing Atletico problems.

The Nigeria international levelled in the 55th minute, turning home a cross from Mohamed-Ali Cho at the far post.

At first, he appeared to head the ball in, although replays suggested he could have used his arm, but VAR did not intervene.

Sadiq then scored a second, delightfully lifting the ball over Jan Oblak after good work from David Silva.

Atletico were creating chances as well, though, but encountered an Alex Remiro in fine form in La Real's goal.

After losing Oblak to injury, Atletico almost won it in the 98th minute, but Remiro made a good save from Felix and Martin Zubimendi produced a fine block to deny Koke on the rebound.
