The Barcelona assistant joined Celta Vigo and will coach them

Unzue was previously there under Lucho in the 2013-14 season

Juan Carlos Unzue, the former assistant to Luis Enrique at Barcelona, spoke on Wednesday after signing on as coach of Celta Vigo for the next two seasons. The coach noted his commitment to the cantera (youth system). "I come from a club that uses the cantera, Osasuna, I grew up at clubs where the cantera was important and at Barcelona it's vital."

He also added that it was "totally false that I don't want John Guidetti."

"I've been a player, a goalkeeper coach, an assistant coach and a head coach. When I start a role I have new sensations, but I see myself prepared. I've always thought about gaining experience to be a head coach," said Unzue. "He (Luis Enrique) always treated me like a head coach and the way we worked together was magnificent. He already said that it's impossible that we would fall out and I think he's right, because if we did it would be very stupid on my part. Nothing in life is important enough to break the friendship that we have. They are 13 years at Barcelona in four different eras and the only thing I have for Barcelona is gratitude. I had the fortune to coincide there with Johan Cruyff and there I got the idea that now Celta are trying to follow."
