The Catalan side are now up in to the top half of the table, with 15 points from their 11 games going into the international break this week.
Borja García opened the scoring for Pablo Machin's side against Levante in Valencia with a stunning goal, before a brilliant piece of play from Portu set up Stuani to make it 2-0.
Unal pulled one back for the home side in stoppage time but it was a case of too little, too late for Levante.
Girona have now gone from six points after eight games to 15 after 11 thanks to wins against Deportivo, Real Madrid and Levante.
Machin will be one of the happier managers in Spain's top flight going into the latest international break -- although he may have preferred for the games to keep coming thick and fast.
