Girona coach Michel extends contract with Catalan club until 2026

Michel has reached an agreement with Girona to renew his contract as coach for two more years, extending his contract until June 30, 2026, the Catalan club announced on Wednesday.

Míchel, 47, arrived at Girona in July 2021 and in his first two seasons at the club has achieved promotion to the Primera Division and a comfortable stay in the top flight of Spanish football, even with a chance of getting into Europe on the last day of LaLiga this weekend.

In the statement, the club assured that "it is confident that the renewal of the coach will strengthen the sporting structure and allow the club to maintain the path of success achieved so far."
