The youngster's already played in La Liga and has been approached by La Roja

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation's Management Commission, Miquel Bestar, admitted on Tuesday that he's spoken "a couple of times" with Mallorca youngster Luka Romero about representing Spain.

Romero, 15, was born in Mexico to Argentine parents but has been in Spain since he was a kid. His performances have seen him dubbed the 'Mexican Messi.'

In July, he became the youngest player to ever play in La Liga when he came on for Mallorca in their defeat to Real Madrid. Now, Spain are trying to get him to switch allegiances from Argentina.

"I know his family want him to play with Argentina," Bestar told IB3 Televisión. "It's an issue we have to work on, although we have the advantage that he's here (in Mallorca)."

Despite being born in Mexico and spending most of his life in Spain, Romero has always said that his dream is to play for Argentina, the country of his family.
