Diallo arrested after 'arranging attack on PSG team-mate Hamraoui'
The PSG midfielder could not play against Madrid and Diallo took her place
A scandal has hit French football. Per L’Equipe, Aminata Diallo, a PSG women’s player, is alleged to have arranged a violent attack on team-mate Kheira Hamraoui. They say that Diallo is under arrest for trying to get her team-mate injured to reduce competition at the club.
The attack is said to have been organised for Nov 4, when PSG women’s players were having a dinner which all the players attended.
Hamraoui was attacked in a car driven by Diallo by two hooded men, who smashed her legs with a metal bar. She was not able to play in the game against Real Madrid. Diallo started in Hamraoui’s place in that game.
"Paris Saint-Germain notes the police custody this morning of Aminata Diallo by the Versailles SRPJ as part of the procedure opened following an assault on Thursday last night against players from the club,” said PSG in a statement.
"Paris Saint-Germain strongly condemns the violence committed. Since Thursday evening November 4, the club has taken all the necessary measures to guarantee the health, well-being and safety of its players.
"Paris Saint-Germain is working with the Versailles SRPJ to shed light on the facts. The club is following the progress of the procedure.”
