Over 91,000 fans attended Wednesday's Clasico Champions League game at Camp Nou

Barcelona broke the attendance record in women's football on Wednesday when 91,553 witnessed their 5-2 Champions League win over Real Madrid.

Barça usually play at the Johan Cruyff stadium but moved to Camp Nou with the aim of breaking the record at the same time as booking their place in the Champions League semifinal.

The previous record was 90,185, set when the Unitedy States played China in the World Cup final in Pasadena in 1999, followed by the 80,203 fans who saw the U.S play Japan at the 2012 Olympics at Wembley.

In Spain, the previous record was posted in 2019 when 60.739 supporters watched Atletico Madrid lose at home to Barça in the league.
