Barcelona making moves to sign Arsenal star Vivianne Miedema
The Dutch forward is out of contract in the summer and could join for free
Barcelona are already looking ahead to the summer transfer window and according to The Telegraph are, along with Paris Saint-Germain, best positioned to sign Arsenal star Vivianne Miedema.
Miedema, 25, joined Arsenal in 2017 from Bayern Munich and her contract expires this summer. There is no agreement to renew with the London club yet, leading to interest from some of Europe's biggest clubs in the explosive Dutch forward.
"Various clubs are interested in Miedema for next season," her agent Leoni Blokhuis said in December. "I won't say who, but they're not small teams."
Barça have tried to sign her before and now see her as a unique market opportunity, given it's not very often a player of her caliber is available for free.
The main obstacle is the salary, but Barça are exploring the signing, above all because forwards Jenni Hermoso and Asisat Oshoala are both out of contract at the club this summer, too.
