The Barça captain came off the bench in the second half at the Estadi Johan Cruyff

Barcelona needed just one win to clinch the title and, although they struggled to get going in the first half against a Sporting Huelva side that were well contained in their own area, they ended up scoring three times to do justice to the league title they lifted on Sunday at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

It was a day for rotations. After the Champions League semi-final and with the league title on the verge of being won, coach Jonatan Giráldez gave rest to the undisputed starters -- Sandra Paños was left out of the squad and the bench was a luxury of star players -- and an opportunity to those that have played fewer minutes this season.

Barça were not as accurate as usual on the ball, especially in the final third. Huelva's 'bus' hardly left them any gaps and the chances came from far out. The clearest chance came from Claudia Pina, who also returned from injury and wore the captain's armband.

Laia Codina was in charge of breaking the deadlock on a stormy afternoon where all the joy was in the stands, with 5,289 spectators, the second-best attendance of the season at the Johan Cruyff.

Barça improved in the second half and Jana Fernàndez scored the second, surely the goal of the day. She received the ball more than 25 metres out, set it up for her right foot and unleashed a tremendous strike.

But the most special moment of the afternoon came, without doubt, with the return of Alexia Putellas. The captain came on with 15 minutes to go, saw Asisat Oshoala score the third and was able to lift the league trophy. A day she will always remember.
