Barça have won the league once again after thumping Madrid on Sunday

Barcelona have won the Primera Division for the third time in a row after hammering Real Madrid 5-0 at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday.

Jonathan Giraldez's side moved 19 points clear of Real Sociedad with just six games to play as they made it 24 wins from 24 league matches this season.

Barça dominated proceedings but had to wait until just before the break to open the scoring when Alexia Putellas' deflected effort finally beat Misa Rodriguez in the Madrid goal.

With the deadlock broken, Putellas added the second almost immediately, hammering home inside the box after a fine pass from Patri Guijarro.

Patri then added the third herself after the break, scoring a screamer from 20 yards, before a Babett Peter own goal made it 4-0.

Jenni Hermoso completed the scoring late on after being teed up by Putellas.

Barca will now set their sights on the Copa de la Reina and the Champions League. They meet Madrid in the latter at the quarterfinal stage later this month.
