Barça win in Vallecas to make it 20 from 20 & turn thoughts to Man City

Lluis Cortes' side won 4-0 on Saturday ahead of the Champions League game in midweek

Barcelona made it 20 wins out of 20 in the Primera Division on Saturday as they beat Rayo Vallecano 4-0 to take their points tally to 60.

Lluis Cortes made a number of changes to his side with Wednesday's Champions League quarterfinal against Manchester City in mind but his side were still far too good for Rayo.

Ana Crnogorcevic opened the scoring in the 15th minute and Asisat Oshoala made it 2-0 on the half-hour mark.

Kheira Hamraoui added the third early in the second half and Dutch international Lieke Martens completed the scoring in the 88th minute.

In addition to winning all their 20 league games to date, Barça are now just one goal away from 100 after Saturday's four goals took them on to 99 in the league this season.

At the other end, they have conceded just three goals and are well on track to retaining the title they won last season for the first time since 2015.

Barça are now 12 points clear of second-placed Levante, who will play third-placed Real Madrid on Sunday, who are just a point back from Levante. The Blaugrana have two games in hand on them both, though, which will be three by the end of the weekend.

Cortes' side can now turn their attention to Man City. They play the English side in the Champions League this week, with the first leg to be played in Italy due to restrictions on travel caused by coronavirus.
