The midfielder has made six appearances at the end of the season after ACL tear

Alexia Putellas had the opportunity to play a few minutes in the final of the UEFA Women's Champions League against Wolfsburg as Barcelona won 3-2 on Saturday.

The best player in the world, recently recovered from an ACL injury, came on in the 89th minute in place of Aitana Bonmatí and took the captain's armband, which until then had been worn by goalkeeper Sandra Paños.

Alexia went into the final without the necessary competitive rhythm and therefore did not start the game in Eindhoven.

However, coach Jonatan Giráldez wanted to reward her with a few minutes and she came on in the 89th minute, playing in the eight minutes of added time as well.

Barça were in control of the game after coming back from 2-0 down and Alexia's experience was important to keep the lead. The captain provided the composure that was always needed to secure the title.

Alexia reappeared on 30 April to lift another title, the Liga F, in the victory over Sporting Huelva. It was one of five games she has played in, always coming on in the second half.

She also played against Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Athletic and Madrid CFF, scoring a goal.

Against Wolfsburg, she also had her chance coming off the bench and was able to make her mark, as well as lifting the second Champions League for Barça.
