Official: FC Barcelona midfielder Matheus Pereira has completed his transfer to SD Eibar

FC Barcelona and Eibar have reached an agreement for the transfer of Matheus Pereira. The Brazilian player from Barça Atlètic will play until June 30, 2025 in the Basque club, which competes in the Second Division, as per the deal between the two clubs.

Barça, who have expressed their gratitude to the midfielder for his commitment and dedication and have wished him good luck for achievements in the future, have not made an official announcement regarding the transfer figures. As per the arrangement, Barcelona shall receive 50% of the fees of any future sale, and, in the event of their promotion, Eibar will pay a bonus as well.

Matheus Pereira arrived at FC Barcelona in the winter market of the 2019/20 season on loan from Juventus. The following summer his move was made permanent. Two and a half seasons later, although he was under contract until 2025, his time with the Barcelona youth team was over. The time had come to look for a mutually beneficial exit for player and team, and the Brazilian is now set to continue his career in LaLiga Smartbank.

The player from Sao Paulo, who in the 2021/22 season was an indisputable asset for Sergi Barjuan with five goals and three assists in 36 games, passed medical examination with Eibar on Monday. A day later, his arrival at Ipurua was made official, where he will join the team, who had recently come very close to returning to the Primera Division, albeit failing to do so in the end. A goal from Alcorcón in stoppage time on the last matchday sent the Armeros into the playoff, where they were eliminated by Girona.
