Josep Maria Bartomeu congratulates Garcia Pimienta on renewal
The president spoke about the B team coach signing on for another year
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu congratulated Garcia Pimienta for his contract renewal. The B team coach extended his deal until 2021, having originally taken over in the 2017-18 season.
With the renewal the team is strengthened ahead of the promotion play-offs from July 18.
Garcia Pimienta is a coach that the president likes and not without good reason, having brought the Youth League to the club in his second reign at Juvenil A. He won the league that year too and helped Barca B get promoted as Gerard Lopez's assistant the year before.
However success is not the only thing valued; his playing style fits that of Barca's and he's a perfect youth coach. He formed at the club as a player in his day.
Bartomeu wrote on Twitter: "With the renovation of Francesc Xavier Garcia Pimienta we guarantee the continuity of a coach who represents the formative values of La Masia. Many congratulations!"
