The youngster joins the Belgian side after running down his Barcelona contract

Club Brugge have officially announced the signing of Barcelona striker Víctor Barberá, who arrives on a free transfer his contract expired. The Catalan player has committed himself to the Belgian club until June 2027.

Barberá rejected the renewal offer made by the Barça and had already said goodbye to the club with an emotional video on his official Instagram account.

At the age of 18, Barberá leaves Barça after three seasons in which he has demonstrated his goalscoring prowess. His situation at Barça Atlètic changed dramatically when he refused to renew his contract.

A change

The young forward went from being a starter in Rafa Márquez's line-ups to the bench and subsequently disappeared from match-day squads altogether, including those of the Juvenil A team. His place was taken by Ángel Alarcón.

Barberá will be reunited at Brugge with another former Blaugrana player, Ferran Jutglà, who joined last summer after the Belgian club paid Barcelona €5 million.
