The young right-back had only just returned from a long-term injury

It's almost impossible that Sergi Rosanas will return to action this season after Barcelona confirmed the youngster needs to undergo surgery.

Rosanas, 19, will need an operation on his knee after he injured the ligament and the meniscus in it during Sunday's Barça B game against Olot.

The young right-back was making just his first start of the season for the B team having only just returned from a long-term injury.

That made the fact he was forced off with a new problem after just five minutes even hard to take for Garcia Pimienta's side.

Barça announced on Tuesday that he will be operated on later this week by Ramon Cugat and will begin his rehabilitation work with the club's medical team immediately.

The Blaugrana will announce after the operation how long Rosanas will be out for, but everything suggests he will be sidelined for the rest of the campaign.
