Arsenal join Leeds, Sevilla & Milan in the race for Barcelona's Ilias

The young winger is set to leave for free when his contract expires this summer

Ilias Akhomach will not renew his contract with FC Barcelona and will leave this summer when his time at youth level comes to an end. The skilful winger, who started in Xavi Hernandez's debut as Barça coach in the derby against Espanyol, will be a big loss, as will Victor Barbera, who will move to Club Brugge.

In the case of Ilias, his fate is not so clear. It is true that Leeds United have the advantage, but there are negotiations with four other suitors and nothing is closed. In addition to the known interest of Sevilla and Milan, there are two more clubs. One of them, SPORT has learned, is Arsenal. The Gunners have been following the player from Hostalets de Pierola for a long time and are in the bidding.

English football seems to be an ideal scenario for the characteristics of Ilias. Arsenal are a club that are always on the lookout for emerging stars and the winger's talent has not gone unnoticed.

Resolution coming soon

In any case, a final decision on Ilias' future could be made in the next few days, or weeks at the latest. Barça will lose one of their jewels, but, as with Barberá, no real effort has been made to retain a player who is very culé. Only with Lamine Yamal will an exception be made in terms of negotiations.

Even so, Barça will not leave empty-handed and some conditions will be accepted, such as a percentage of future sales or the rights of the player, who is currently playing in the elite round with Spain U19.
