Lionel Messi looked after by doctors on turbulent flight to face Colombia

The Argentine was left feeling extremely uneasy along with other stars after their plane went through severe turbulence

FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi fell ill during Argnetina's flight to San Juan and had to be looked after by the medics. As well as Messi, other players suffered dizziness and feeling faint because of the severe turbulence passing the Andes.

The aeroplane set off around midday from Ezeiza and during the journey the turbulence caused various players to vomit and feel ill. One of them was Messi.

"The flight moved a bit, yes, but it's normal when one gomes to San Juan," said Jorge Miadosqui, the team's selection secretary.

Edgardo Bauza's men are now safely in the hotel Del Bona Park where they will face Los Cafeteros in a World Cup qualifier at the San Juan del Bicentenario stadium.
