Ex-Barça boss Tata Martino close to coaching Mexico
The Argentine would have to leave Atlanta United to take on the job
Gerardo 'Tata' Martino's time at Atlanta United could be coming to an end. The former Barcelona coach is the front runner to take over the Mexico national team.
ESPN Deportes have claimed that Martino will leave Major League Soccer to take over as the new coach of El Tri.
Reports first emerged that Martino was Mexico's top option around one week ago, with Marcelo Bielsa said to have connected the Mexican Federation (FMF) with the Argentine coach.
The FMF originally wanted Bielsa to take over but he rejected the offer as he's currently with Leeds United in England's second tier.
