Diego Costa nets again as Chelsea make Aston Villa pay

Diego Costa struck again as Chelsea remained on top in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho's side dispatched Aston Villa 3-0 at Stamford Bridge, with Oscar and Willian netting the other two.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, who play Chelsea next weekend, drew with north London rivals Tottenham 1-1.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain equalised after Nacer Chadli had fired Spurs into the lead.

Wenger complained afterwards about injuries to midfield trio Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey, which could keep the trio out of action for that Chelsea clash.

"I don't know how long they'll be out but they will be out until next week," he said.

"Wilshere, I don't know. The two others are out for Chelsea for sure.

"Suddenly we are short because if we lost three players today, and let's not forgot that we already have two out long-term plus Theo Walcott, that's six. Abou Diaby is not ready so it starts to become a worry."

Manchester United won 2-1 against West Ham, with goals from Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

Red Devils captain Rooney was given a straight red card though, for a pathetic kick at midfielder Stewart Downing.

Rivals Manchester City also won, dispatching Hull City 4-2 with goals from Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko (2) and Frank Lampard.
