Barca elections: Victor Font's sporting proposal
What the election candidate is proposing regarding sports at Barcelona
We know the cornerstone of the Font project is Xavi Hernandez returing as general manager. Besides that, these are the most important points from Victor Font’s sports proposal ahead of Sunday's election:
1.Professional women's soccer team: General Manager, Lluís Cortés and Sports Director, Markel Zubizarreta.
2.Handball: trust in David Barrufet. The person in charge of the project is Álvaro Ferrer, former player and coach.
3.Creation of two self-sufficient sections: artistic swimming and chess, thanks to socio initiatives
4. Roller hockey: a profound reformulation of the section will be carried out, with the creation of its own school. The person in charge of the section would be Nando Pujalte.
5. Get back the experience of Joan Vilà, who will join Paco Seirul • lo. One of the objectives of this area will be the creation of a “La Masia of Coaches".
6. Behavior and psychology with Inma Puig, an expert psychologist in training and team management. Toni Nadal will contribute his knowledge in this area.
7. Tito Blanco will be responsible for the position of technical secretary; Jordi Cruyff, the sporting director of the Barça first team; García Pimienta will continue as coach of Barça B and Joan Vilà and Albert Benaiges, the people in charge of grassroots football.
8.Ronald Koeman will remain the coach of the first team.
