INCIDENCIAS

Partido correspondiente a la décima jornada de LaLiga disputado en el Camp Nou ante 93.426 espectadores.

The Catalans are still top, on goal difference, with both teams five points clear of third place Sevilla.

This match was the October Clasico which was postponed and one wonders if it might have been more entertaining then.

There were some protests outside but nothing to write home about, and neither was the game.

Madrid were better in the first half, having 12 shots, although not many of them came too close.

Fede Valverde’s strike flew wide, Karim Benzema had an effort saved.

Lionel Messi mis-hit an effort, Luis Suarez went down in the box and asked for a penalty, Raphael Varane demanded two at the other end. None were given.

Jordi Alba should have scored from a diamond Messi pass.

“We had a great game from start to finish,” said Zinedine Zidane. It wasn’t true, neither team did, although Madrid edged it.

A goalless draw was fair and fitting, the first the Clasico has seen in 17 years. It says a lot.
