Vidal didn't want to focus on Ronaldo ahead of semi-final in Russia
The two met in the Champions League quarter-final in April, too
Arturo Vidal, one of the stars of the Chile side in Russia for the Confederations Cup, has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo, the leader of Portugal, ahead of the semi-final between the two sides.
"Cristiano is a smart ass. For me he does not exist. I have already told my [Bayern Munich] team-mate [and Germany international] Joshua Kimmich that we will meet again in the final," Vidal said, per the Daily Mail.
Ronaldo and Vidal will meet each other in the last four having also faced each other in the Champions League for their respective clubs earlier this year, Real Madrid and Bayern. On that occasion, Vidal was sent off before Ronaldo went on to score a hat-trick.
However, it should be pointed out that Vidal also said: "Cristiano is a player who is doing good things, but we're playing against Portugal, not just against Cristiano."
