On August 17 in Barcelona a van hit several pedestrians on Las Ramblas in what has been described as a terrorist attack. The world of sport reacted to condemn the events and show their support for the victims.

Barcelona published a tweet reading: "Deeply saddened by the attack on our city. All our thoughts are with the victims, their families and with the people of Barcelona."

RCD Espanyol also spoke out, wishing strength and support to the ciry of Barcelona. "The most beautiful city in the world, our city. We suffer for you and with all Barcelonians. Strength and support, Barcelona."
