Barça’s new general sporting manager, Pep Segura, has tried to take the Sting out of a painful defeat to Real Madrid. “I thought Barça played very well in the first half. The team controlled the game well, created good opportunities but the error by Gerard Piqué changed the game completely,” he said.
Segura thinks that the fans “are not panicked but yes, of course, they are disappointed to lose to Madrid. But the Super Cup is not lost yet. Our team has the quality to turn the tie around at the Bernabéu”.
He was also clear that “today’s result will not change our planning at all. We have been working it on for a while and this doesn’t change anything. Signings? We don’t talk about signings until they have been completed.
On Deulofeu, he said “he had a difficult game. But he must have confidence, be daring and show the quality he has. We have confidence in him”.
