Ronald Koeman has stunned Madrid before as a coach

The Dutchman led Valencia to a 3-2 win at the Santiago Bernabeu back in the day

The battle on the bench is another aspect of the Clasico. On top of the star players on the pitch, both clubs are coached by legends, Zinedine Zidane and Ronald Koeman.

Koeman has taken on Madrid away from home once in La Liga as a coach, with Valencia in 2007-8, and they won 3-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Raul scored Madrid’s goals, while Villa twice and Javier Arizmendi sealed the win for Los Che. Valencia have not won there in 13 years since.

Koeman has only faced Zidane once too, this season, in the 3-1 Camp Nou Clasico defeat. Now he can try and flip the coin at Valdebebas.

Zidane has only suffered two defeats against Barca in 10 games as a coach. Barca won twice at the Bernabeu in 16-17 and 17-18, 3-2 and 3-0 respectively.

No surprise - Leo Messi was Barcelona’s executioner in chief. He scored twice in the 3-2 including a stoppage time winner. In the other he netted along with Suarez and Aleix Vidal of all players.
