Hernández Hernández will no longer oversee the league game at the Bernabeu

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have announced that Undiano Mallenco will take charge of Saturday's Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend.

Mallenco, who is in his last season before giving up professional refereeing, steps in for Hernandez Hernandez, who has had to drop out with an injury.

Alberto Undiano Mallenco had been down as the VAR official for the Eibar-Celta Vigo game but he will be replaced by José María Sánchez Martínez. Hernandez Hernandez has injured his calf and will be out for at least two weeks.

Therefore, Mallenco will fulfill his dream of ending his top-flight career with another Clasico. He was one of the candidates to take charge of the game in the first place before Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez was appointed.

Remember that in charge of VAR operations at the Bernabeu will be Mateu Lahoz. He's one of the referees who has caused the most controversy in recent seasons.
