Courtois went down late on as Madrid protected their lead at Camp Nou

Thibaut Courtois, the Real Madrid goalkeeper, claimed he "felt some pain" when he cleared the ball late on but doesn't think it's "anything serious."

Courtois went down late on after kicking the ball under no challenge from a Barcelona player, drawing the ire of the Camp Nou crowd, who felt he was time-wasting.

"I hurt myself," he told Movistar. "I felt some pain as I kicked the ball, but I was able to continue. I hope it's nothing serious."

Madrid won the game 2-1 with goals from David Alaba and Lucas Vazquez, with Sergio Aguero scoring a late consolation for Barcelona.

"With the ball we were very good, we defended well," Courtois added. "Until the goal at the end they didn't have any chances. It's a good win, another Clasico win to stay at the top of the table which is important."

On Barça, who are now five points adrift of Madrid, the stopper said: "They're always going to be up there. LaLiga is very even, there are a lot of hard games and it will be tough until the end."
