"There's no argument, Madrid were better over the two legs"

"I'm not worried. I'm sure we'll have a good season"

After the final whistle last night, Jordi Alba knew Madrid had deserved their victory: “There’s no argument, our opponent was better over the two legs. It was very difficult for us today after the defeat the Camp Nou and maybe they surprised us a bit because we didn’t think they would play with three forwards. I think we played well in the second half but by then it was too late. Now we have to move on and concentrate on the league game against Betis”.

Despite this defeat, the defender was optimistic for the new season. “I’m not worried. I’m sure we’ll have a good season. It’s just getting started and we have a lot of challenges ahead of us”.

On potential signings, the player said, “I like the team… but if signings come in, they’ll be welcome because they’ll be people who have come to add something. I don’t have any complaints about this team although it’s clear we need to improve a lot of things”.
