The Brazilian midfielder said the blame should be aimed at the players and not Lopetegui

Carlos Hernrique Casemiro was the chosen Real Madrid player to face the cameras following the humiliating 5-1 loss to Barcelona at the Camp Nou. Casemiro isn't one to hide away, less so in the heat of the moment, and this is what he told BeIN Sports: "The image of the team we showed today is the same one we've shown all season. We aren't playing well. We can't blame the coach as it's the players who must face up to the fact we lost 5-1 and that's been the story of our season."

When pressed as to the reasons behind this poor run of form, Casemiro said: "It isn't only about attitude, or tactics, it's everything. But above all it's the players who must run more, stand up more and fight for this club. We need to give our best." However one person who isn't to blame in the midfielder's mind is Julen Lopetegui. "We can't talk about the coach now as we're to blame. We are the ones out on the pitch and who need to work harder. The club demands you give everything you have."

"We played well at times. In the second half we had chances to make it 2-2 but it's like what i said, this match is the same as all the others this season. This season has been a disaster and we're all playing poorly."

Yet Casemiro doesn't believe now is the time to make drastic decisions. "Right now we need to remain calm, be patient. We know that we aren't playing well and that we must improve."
