Barça star Griezmann's huge praise for Real Madrid forward Benzema
The French forward will be one of Madrid's main threats in Wednesday's Clasico
Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann poured praise on his compatriot Karim Benzema ahead of the first Clasico of the season this week.
Real Madrid travel to Camp Nou on Wednesday with Benzema in fine form. He has stepped up since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus and currently leads the Pichichi along with Barça's Lionel Messi.
Griezmann, who's faced Benzema many times as both an Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad, although this will be his first time against him in a Barça shirt.
"There are always doubts about Benzema and then he goes on to score 15 or 20 goals a season," Griezmann told Movistar+. "He is one of the best No.9s around."
On a more personal level, Griezmann also said that his father "is so proud to see his son playing for Barcelona."
In this sense, the France forward explained that he's progressively integrated into the squad and now wants to leave his mark in the club's history books.
With two goals in his last two league games, he will start Wednesday's Clasico in attack alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
