Celta Vigo forward Santi Mina has been threatened with eight years in jail relating to a 2017 incident where he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in Almeria.

Sources from the Andalusia High Court of Justice told EFE that there is no set date for a trial but they are only waiting for the striker’s legal time to provide a brief before they can proceed.

The prosecutor’s office wrote in its letter that on Jun 17, 2017 at 4.30 am, Ibiza defender and Mina’s friend David Goldar had gone with the woman to a parked caravan near the Mojacar disco in Almeria. He then tried to satisfy “his sexual appetite” despite her obligations, entering the caravan naked.

She protested against it and he left the caravan but allegedly returned a minute later and sexually assaulted the victim, who has suffered chronic post-traumatic stress since.
