Carlo Ancelotti insists he's staying at Real Madrid... or sitting a year out

Carlo Ancelotti says if he's not in charge of Real Madrid next season then he won't be in charge of anyone.

The Italian was speaking after his side's 7-3 win over Getafe on Saturday evening, which saw Cristiano Ronaldo net a first-half hat-trick, before being replaced by Martin Odegaard.

Speculation is rife that Ancelotti will leave his job after failing to secure either the Champions League or La Liga, with Napoli coach Rafael Benitez among the men tipped to take over at the Santiago Bernabeu.

AC Milan have been rumoured to want to bring Ancelotti back to the San Siro, but he insisted it's Madrid or nothing.

"I have said many times now that I want to stay," he insisted. "If the club says I will not, of course I would not be happy. My future is clear in my head. Either I stay here at Real Madrid, or I stop coaching for one year.”

Questioned on when he last spoke with president Florentino Perez, he said the pair had talked at a Microsoft event on Tuesday.

They are now set for more talks this week to decide Ancelotti's fate.
