Despite being linked with moves away all summer, the Bosnian midfielder could extend his contract to 2023 and earn €6.5m per season at the Italian giants

It appears Juventus are deadly serious about winning the Champions League this season. Following the arrivals of Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo, the Turin giants are expected to announce that Miralem Pjanic has signed a new deal at the club. Whilst it might not be another 'galactico' signing, it could prove to be just as significant.

In fact, this will bring an end to one of the most talked about transfer sagas of the summer. After being linked with moves to Manchester City, PSG, Chelsea and Barcelona, Pjanic will ultimately stay at Juventus. The pay rise won't hurt either.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Bosnian player is very close to signing a new five-year contract with 'The Old Lady'. He'll earn €6.5m (net) per season during the length of his new deal. Pjanic will be rewarded for the loyalty shown to Juventus and the club's desire for him to be part of their championship-winning team.

The 28-year-old midfielder arrived at Juventus in 2016 for €32m and has been a key member of their squad ever since. Pjanic, who has never asked to leave, could now finish his career at the club. As we await official confirmation it appears Barça, alongside other big clubs in Europe, have missed out on one of the options to strengthen their midfield.
