Young Barça midfielder Fermín López's patience is inexhaustible

Fermín López experienced his best day since joining Barcelona during the recent Clásico match played in Dallas as part of the tour in the United States.

The player from El Campillo (Huelva) came on in the 65th minute and, twenty minutes later, scored a fantastic goal that helped seal a 3-0 victory, with Ferran Torres adding a late goal.

That night, Fermín had trouble sleeping, as his father told SPORT: "He kept me awake almost the entire night. We were reminiscing about a lot of things."

Since then, the academy graduate has only played four minutes in La Liga and 32 minutes in the Champions League, a limited presence, but one that hasn't wavered Fermín from the path he set out on when he joined Barcelona as a child: to succeed in the Blaugrana colors.

In fact, he renewed his contract in late August until June 30, 2028, which was one of the happiest days of his life as it allowed him to maintain his dreams intact.

This season has not been easy for him. Besides his limited role in the first team, where the competition is fierce, he also had a stroke of bad luck with the B team. He still doesn't have a first-team squad number, and during the recent international break, he dropped down to help Rafa Márquez's team.

Luck wasn't on his side, and he ended up getting a red card, resulting in a one-game suspension. It's likely that during the upcoming October international break, Fermín López will return to contribute to Barcelona Atlètic because both Xavi and Márquez understand that he needs more playing time to develop.
