Yaya Toure: Rafa Marquez was 10 times better than Gerard Pique
The former Barcelona midfielder came out with some surprising comments
Yaya Toure caused a few surprises when picking the ultimate team of players he played with, for Sky Sports.
The former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder also claimed that his ex-Barca team-mate Rafa Marquez was 10 times better than Gerard Pique.
“Marquez was one of the toughest defenders,” Toure told Sky Sports. “People don’t remember him because he didn’t play in England. But if you want to remember him you have to go to YouTube and check what he was like at Barcelona. What a defender. He was 10 times better than Gerard Pique.
“He was similar, but Pique was taller. Believe me, he was 10 times better. He was so, so good. I’ve been in love with him.”
He also said he had to pick Vincent Kompany in the defence.
