The Barça coach handed the 15-year-old his debut this weekend

Xavi Hernández didn't hesitate: Yamine Lamal had been training with the first team for a few weeks and was crying out for a chance with Barcelona’s senior side.

Despite being only 15 years old, the player is one of the greatest talents at La Masia and the club know that they must treat him well, like the chosen ones.

Moreover, the conditions of the match against Real Betis, a 4-0 win, were perfect to make him the youngest player to make his debut for Barça in La Liga. Betis played with one player less player and the score was decided. He came on in the 83rd minute.

"I told him to try things and he did. He was close to scoring and he also created well. You can see that he is a special player and that he can become very big. He is a differential player, with the final pass, he is not afraid of anything, he has an innate talent. He can mark the future of the club,” Xavi assured.

Lamine's debut was the cherry on top of a great night for Barcelona. The team recovered their best feelings after the defeat at Rayo Vallecano, which was deserved, as Xavi admitted.

"Yes, after a defeat we needed to react. We started well with dynamism and playing fast. After the sending off, the game went our way and we scored two goals to put the game to bed. It's a pity we couldn't have scored more goals even though we tried.”
