Xavi: No team plays like Barça, no one is on their level

Xavi Hernandez has stated that Barça is still in his mind as a potential destination to become a coach when he hangs up his boots and the club is on another level compared to teams across Europe.

The 36-year-old took part in an exclusive interview with SPORT in which he spoke about his former club and his future plans when decides to retire.

"Barça is the best team that influences teams across the world, including international football," he said, "Nobody plays like Barça but they're still criticised.

"Besides, the club has the best players and their playing style is second to none.

"It's an honour that they still think of me after I left, but I think it's too early to become a coach [at the club]. It's true, however, that I'm passionate about coaching and love it.

"I'm with Felix Sanchez and Oscar Cano in the Aspire Academy learning a lot. I see the training techniques and methodology.

"But I feel good physically and want to continue playing for at least a couple more years."

Barça have already made three signings this summer in Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne and Denis Suarez as the Catalan club go in search of retaining their league and Copa del Rey crowns in addition to regaining the Champions League from Real Madrid.

Xavi believes that Luis Enrique only needs a few adjustments to help get the team back to their full potential and winning all possible titles.

"The truth is that Barça only needs little things, one or two touches [to make the team perfect]," Xavi concluded, "Renewing the contracts of Sergio Busquets, Neymar, Andres Iniesta and [potentially] Lionel Messi proves they care about their players.

"Tell me who is better than Busquets, Iniesta or the other two mentioned?"

"Despite the environment, criticism and everything around the club, Barça are clear favourites to win [all the titles]. So I insist that they appreciate what they have because what they have is very good."
