The Barcelona coach spoke after the 3-0 win over Real Madrid in Dallas on Saturday

Xavi Hernández was delighted with Barcelona's 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the Clasico, but tried to keep everyone's feet on the ground afterwards.

The Barça coach recalled the criticism received for the defeat against Arsenal (5-3) in the first pre-season friendly: "Now we will be the best and the other day we were a disaster. That's the way we are as Culés and the environment (around the team).

"We've done a lot of things well, but we've also made a lot of mistakes that we have to correct. Obviously, the result is spectacular, but at this stage of the season it's secondary. The important thing now is to improve."

Xavi was ambitious and urged his players to be ambitious too: "We've had some very good moments, but we have to have more. We have to try not to lose silly balls. I understand that a win against Real Madrid always leaves the fans satisfied."

Fermín López stays

Xavi highlighted the performance of Fermín López, who scored his first goal and provided his first assist as a first-team player: "I've always said that the coaching staff have no complexes with young players when you earn it in training. We've seen Fermín looking good in preseason and we believe he can help us throughout the season."

The Blaugrana boss confirmed that Fermín will not go out on loan.

Xavi also referred to Oriol Romeu, who gave an exhibition of what a defensive pivot should be: "He is a great signing. He is a very mature player who wins duels and is a leader on the pitch."

Finally, he analysed Dembélé's future, referring to rumours that Paris Saint-Germain are willing to pay his termination clause: "We don't know what will happen in the transfer market. I see him happy at Barça, but in the end it's the player's decision. If there is something, he will let us know."
