The coach prefers the team to train on the pitch where they will play the next day

Xavi Hernandez is changing the way Barcelona are working. From generic ways - the structure of the medical services - to more particular details, including getting the team to gather in a hotel before games, or new rules. One of them is a new Champions League routine.

Xavi has decided the team will train at the Allianz Arena in Munich, different to his predecessors, Ronald Koeman and Sergi Barjuan, who preferred to train at home and then travel. The team slept in Lisbon and Kiev but trained first in Barcelona.

Xavi wants the players to work on the pitch where the game will take place. It can help get the players in the right headspace.

They will work at 7pm at the Allianz, after Xavi and a player speak to the media at 6.15pm. The game will take place without fans because of Covid-19.
